I'd venture to guess that if a retailer is selling the product as fast as they can put it on the shelf, it is good enough of a reason to keep or increase the shelf space for that product. I don't want to sound like I am preaching Radica but when I hear all the conversation of Radica vs. Tiger shelf space, I think it is very important to consider that Radica is selling out on the sku space they do have. Tiger is mostly just sitting there. The retailers could spread the product across more space, but why. It is going to sell out useing less area anyway. It seems to me, Tiger needs a large amount of space to suck the consumer into buying it . The stores have to move the stock and it does not take the effort to sell out of Radica or MB that it does for most of Tigers product. Sort of the squeaky wheel deal. If it makes some feel better that Radica has more space, the next time you walk in a store, squint and pretend that the skus are twice as many with half as much product on each one. Looks the same doesn't it! EMPTY!

My guess is that if we spent as much time tracking the shelf life and margins of Tiger products in the stores, we'd find out that as full as they always seem to be is dirrectly proportional to as seldom as they need to be restocked. Also to some degree, how much the stores wish the stuff would sell.

I am not saying that I don't want to see more space given to Radica and MB, just that they have gained tons over last year and are selling what is being ordered. This is a gooood thing guys and sku space is not the whole story of how well a company stacks up. Just my take on some of it, maybe I am way off base here.
