Julius a lot of your posts are informative and interesting to me . But this one is clearly lacking in knowledge .

Every 200 years the earth has cooled down as the sun goes into a form of hibernation . This is a function of the suns dynamics . en.wikipedia.org Notice chart on top right of link .

The sun has 4 electrical dynamos on surface that create sun spots . Out of which solar flares are ejected .

Notice on chart the co relation between the # of sunspots and the temperature . Sunspots/day high , temp on earth warms . Low sunspot # and earth cools .

In the 90's as the earth warmed sunspots got to 200/day . Since Jan 2019 they have dropped to 1 to 2/day when we have them .

When 2 dynamos go out of phase sunspots drop into 20's and 30's . When 4 go out of phase , as they are now , spots drop to 1 to 2 when we have them .

So this specific cycle is aprox 400 years and it alternates between 2 or 4 going out of phase as well as earth gets cooler and earth gets damned cold .

We are transitioning from a warming to a cooling down .

Russia does know how to live in the cold .

re: The Big Thaw: How Russia Could Dominate a Warming World

Only problem is that the world will be cooling.

My recommendation on this detailed article is to remind anyone of the Chinese influences and creeping invasion of Siberia which is highly correlated to the Siberian forest-fires in summers for the last 10 to 15 years.

According to TAU scientist the summer-fires are initiated by the criminally inclined policies of non-Russians

As to agricultural land there is plenty in Russia and Kazakhstan that lies fallow and if indeed the desire of Russia and Kazakhstan was to dominate the grains supplies of the world they could do it very easily without "global warming". Therefore the article has a sublime purpose from entities which do have the interest of scare mongering which purposes are not clear to me and therefore would not speculate.

All in All - the global warming is very bad for Russia/Siberia due to the thawing of the permafrost and losses in huge quantities of easily extractable CH4, which effect btw only perpetuated more of the same global warming and make forest fires more destructive.
