Barbara: Bollinger Bands are supposed to be good when used together with other indicators also. I am not as excited about stochastics though. I use two or more things together. I also move with the overall trend, the industry trend, individual stock trend, and even a little fundamental work. When everything is going in the same direction, I make my move. The calculation of the ARMs index is embarrasingly simple. However, it works as I have shown with those examples. All we can ever do when viewing the future is to reduce the odds against us, or more positively said, put the odds in our favor. We are at the mercy of other people's perceptions in the marketplace. TA helps us hear what they are saying.
