Barton Biggs happens to be Chairman of the Board of both TTF and MF. In Barrons roundtable, another panelist shot down the idea of investing in high premium single country funds before Biggs even had a chance to say anything on them. While he didn't get to mention TTF and MF, and probably would not have recommended them anyway, he did recommend the WEBS in Asia, as well as the closed end Asia Pacific Fund and Pakistan Fund (which trade at discounts). He believes bear markets in emerging Asia are just about over and indices could easily double. He favours Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia and also likes Japanese stocks (but shorts the JBG bonds).
