I too suffered thru the insufferable intro by Mr. Lou R.
Re Ed Y. being cut short, my guess is that Mr L. reviews the show format prior to airing and possibly got a foretaste of Ed's final remarks about yr2k. Since he didn't want any 'looney' remarks on his show he deliberately timed it so that Ed Y.'s remarks could be cut short.
Remember his last question to the group was "what in your opinion is the one big factor that could disrupt your rosy forecasts"?
