Top Cat Historical Data Sure Looks Good... 1/31/98 11:19 60157

I think the last press release by STS has clarified exactly what their Congo properties are and should allow it to reopen on Monday... my first comment is that these properties appears to have the potential to contain significant amounts of gold based on excellent historical data... there may also be diamonds (which would be a real bonus to the play) but I think the real potential of this play lies in the potential huge gold discover... some of the values they have quoted are amazing, but unlike the Bre-X play which often quoted high values like this, the Congo properties have been extensively mined at the surface and significant amounts of gold have already been extracted (this confirms gold is there)... also all the indicator rock types are present (which Bre-X clearly didn't have)... and I understand there is mining on-going at this time by locals... I have followed and held shares in STS for quite some time... although the information provided here is preliminary and needs to be further expanded by getting on the properties (which they are currently planning to do), I have decided that averaging down at this price is probably not a bad decision... I don't think I would mortgage the house but it certainly looks worth a little more risk... the potential lies in if they can drill and prove historical records then clearly they are sitting on a major gold find... if drilling is inconclusive, my downside risk is probably limited to $0.10... all in all not a bad risk for potentially good potential price on the upside...
