Hi Bryan,

If it were true you would see articles all over the place.

Novell recently brought the Novell/Netscape joint venture, Novonyx, back under Novell management. This may be what you heard.

Personally, I think NOVL/NSCP would make a killer combination. The two companies would fit together almost seamlessly IMO. Netscape has the marketing presence and internet products Novell lacks. Novell has the cash, installed base, channel partners, OS and factory/office space that Netscape could benefit from. It might be interesting to note that Netscape is going through the same kind of cleansing process that Novell was going through last summer.

I would be surprised to see anything (if at all) before next summer, about the time Novells new facilities in California are completed. You can bet that Microsoft would put as many road blocks as possible in the way of a merger between the two companies. I don't think they could stop it but they would do everything in their power to slow it down.

DISCLAIMER: Most of this is pure speculation on my part. It seems reasonable to me but you can ask anyone on the thread how often Novell does something reasonable.

Regards,

Don
