I need about 7 hours and feel like death if I miss sleep. It goes in cycles when nothing will put me down, and then I crash. When I was a kid I would lay awake almost all night long, unable to sleep.

It very quickly became apparent that my daughter suffers from it, too. She never slept and it was a real battle to keep her down until she was old enough to take melatonin, on her pediatrician's recommendation, at 3 (1mg, then). The first night we gave it to her she slept all night long, the first time in her life. The next night my daughter ASKED for it, which just about made my wife break down and cry. The poor kid was sleep deprived for three years.

It's very prevalent on my father's side of the family. My cousins all complain about it on FB. "Another sleepless night, back to work!"

I just woke up after getting four hours. Used half a 10mg which seems to be a better amount.
