This is why Trump had to go.

He wasted, like, how much time focusing on getting the election overturned?

And NOW he comes out of his shell long enough to veto legislation, claiming that the "stimulus" should be $2,000 instead of $600?

Where was he while the bills were being written? Did he tell anyone, like Mitch McConnell or Nancy Pelosi, that he was going to veto the bill unless changes were made?

Yeah I get it, his veto won't mean much in the grand scheme of things, as Congress could simply wait til Biden is president, then send the legislation to him.

But if he really wanted to remain relevant in politics, he should have made his concerns known beforehand, before Congress voted on the bills. I think his concerns would have resonated with the public, which would have motivated Congress to make changes before sending it to his desk.

Instead, he blunders into the process like an absentee general. And in doing so, he made himself completely irrelevant.

Even lame ducks have power. Probably more power than usual given that they don't have to worry about the electoral consequences of their actions.

But Trump, like the dumbass he is, squanders his final opportunities to leave a lasting legacy, for what it's worth.

Because he just can't help himself. Because his ego grew to ridiculous proportions.

More than anything else Trump has done, his actions post-election proved that he needed to go.
