I would go to your local library and browse for a book on terms. My background comes from my analysts and it really helps to have experts behind you. With all that aside, knowing the technology is not where I would advise you to focus. Try to get to know the people, are they honest, are they good, do they get most of their compensation from growth in the stock and have they created a franchise. You should start with the prospectus which gives a small bio on the managers and directors, compansation is covered as well. We really should have threads on people, the deals they are involved in, the stocks they are reported to be buying, the boards they are on, what they say when interviewed, who they do deals with and etc. Finally, are insiders buying or selling. Management, management, management. What they widget they make or service they sell is secondary. Best regards, John
