I saw the first 2 nights, I really liked it. It was presented somewhat non-politically with respect to the famines which is okay. From my readings on the subject Ireland was exporting enough food to England to support the country 4x over. Issues like that were not touched on but I suppose it had to be presented in a fashion that did not slight England's efforts too much.

Because I enjoy N'Orleans, I was surprised to note how so many came in there. Although I know many in the area had Irish roots I did not realise N.O. was a port where they entered.

I was reminded also of (what I believe to be) the fact that the Irish are America's largest single group with respect to roots. I think the figure is 1 person in 6 has some Irish ancestry.

For some reason I feel like "Just another Paddy" now.
