Here's the news item on 'Microsoft Start' from CNet.

news.com

They say 'closed beta testing from Feb 9th', and launch late summer. This seems really slow for an internet service...

I'd be interested in any views as to when this news is likely to have an impact on the Excite price. I work for Intuit, and am therefore loaded up on INTU stock and options. I'm still thinking of buying some XCIT directly though, but nervous about getting in at this level. This is especially true given the Microsoft news here, which clearly hasn't 'hit' yet, even though I think the market may overreact in knocking down the search engine valuations.

BTW In case you're wondering, I don't have any particular 'insider' information on XCIT at this moment, and if I did, would probably have to be fairly circumspect about it. Obviously I do get to hear quite a lot about what goes on though. I'm currently responsible for electronic banking marketing in Europe, moving to the US soon to do something Internet-related. Just thought you'd be interested to know, as you're such an INTU, CKFR fan.

Despite being directly involved with the companies, it's still very interesting to participate in this thread (and INTU and CKFR) and get external investors' perspectives.

Best regards, Roger.

PS: I had some headhunters contacting me about a job with MSN on France. Doesn't seem too interesting, but I may get some more info on their launch schedule...
