Found this info about GENESIS from CheckFree Web Site

"Platform Consolidation
CheckFree announced early in the quarter an effort to consolidate its three processing platforms into one, next generation platform called Genesis. The new platform combines the best aspects of CheckFree's Austin, Chicago and Columbus platform sites and creates a single, consistent output stream of information. Genesis enhances electronic remittance fulfillment and bill payment processing efficiencies and provides enhanced quality controls. The entire consolidation project is expected to take 18 months, and today the Company said it is on schedule to meet that time-frame. The move to a new platform takes place over several stages and will be transparent to the financial institutions and their customers. The Company said the first stage, involving the construction and deployment of a new remittance processing engine, is already complete and in place."

Also, looked at jobs available at Check Free. Lot's of technical positions available. They are looking mostly for MAINFRAME people (especially in Atlanta). The skills they are looking for seem to be DB2 and COBOL plus a lot of other mainframe related technical skills. Is GENESIS being developed in COBOL and DB2? I've been a mainframe programmer for over 14 years and I sure wouldn't choose this platform (if I had a choice), but I guess it's possible IBM might of had a say or influence.

Does anybody know the status of this project? They say it's on schedule, but I've heard that before. Do any insiders know the "real" status of this project. Also, how large of a project is it? How many people are working on it? Are they using contractors? I bet it's costing them a lot of $$$

Did notice they aren't looking for many Sales people. I think this is good. I get a bad feeling when a company starts advertising exclusively for Sales People.

FWIW,
