Homelessness should be the most apolitical thing out there given Jesus and the multitude. Jesus didn't give sermons about tax cuts for money-changing on the steps of the temple. He overturned their tables. This isn't MY religion - it is theirs. Charity is one of the Pillars of Islam. It is central to Buddhist thought. Heck - in principle - even Commies are down with it with their "each according to their ability and each according to their need" thing. I don't think any of these "beliefs" included rich white men and women taking money from the public treasury. Money for the Rich. Nice bumpersticker.
