One should always be VERY CAREFUL where one throws one's ALTRUISTIC Seeds ...... ALWAYS ENSURE, as best as possible, that it will fall ON FERTILE GROUND, and NOT on "stony" ground.

Rather give one's best meant TIDINGS to a well placed ORGANIZATION, whose Primary Function is to care for the Poor, the Sick and the Homeless. In that way one can better ensure that one's Good Intentions will bear fruit and will be directed at those who GENUINELY need it.

RIP to your Good Friend.

This was usually the time I called him. I love getting up early, but today is sad. I know Michal gave SI a hard time. But he is still a human being, he was going through a real bad time. Everyone screws up. I have his phone number, not sure if I should post it or not. It works but you wont hear his voice.

Today I am sad.

Given the nature of message boards like SI, it's rare we get to meet one another in the flesh. I had the good fortune of being able to entertain Misha in my house when he came to town for one of his theater photoshoots. He was so animated. So full of life. A real joy to be around. He was so passionate about his craft, about the theater, even about the companies in which he invested that brought him to SI. In fact, he was such a fervent contributor to SI that he founded the board The History of Silicon Investor.

Misha was enamored with the famous Czech novel The Good Soldier Švejk "an unfinished satirical dark comedy novel by Czech writer Jaroslav Hašek, published in 1921–1923, about a good-humored, simple-minded middle-aged man who is enthusiastic to serve Austria-Hungary in World War I... Hašek originally intended Švejk to cover a total of six volumes, but had completed only three (and started on the fourth) upon his death from heart failure on January 3, 1923." I feel like Misha had an inkling he too might not calendar-wise last for six volumes, which would explain why he crammed all six volumes worth of living in the time he had here on earth.

As you know, I was looking for Misha back around September myself. I failed to find him in Prague, but was able to follow his trail in Minnesota.

He was a remarkable soul. He was one of a very few persons that most of us took an instant liking to.

Rest in peace Misha. I was thinking of you just the other day when I had caught a glance of the SI History thread...

EK!!!
