I would only like to say that the market as a whole exploded during that time period . It was not as if Compaq did it on its own. I doubt very seriously if you are going to see that type of explosive move from the market this year. Charts can tell the story but you have to take in all the facts.

Ed....I don't see any comparison of the current daily or weekly chart to that of May, 1997......May, '97 had a very bullish "tight" (daily and weekly top to bottom price range) price range for a couple months, with a slight downward drift---both of those are very bullish......The chart of today's CPQ is wild and erratic, with wide price fluctuations on the daily and weekly charts (accompanied with huge volume, not a good sign - lacking in May of '97)......It's the Pennant formation that has been developing for a few weeks that I'm keeping my eye on (for the short-med. term----long term I'm not worried about).....If on the weekly chart we close much above this price (about 30) or below it's a short-med. term indicator of the price direction for awhile, either up or down.............George
