I like a film where the actors support the film.

In Hollywood, too often, they build a weak story around an actor and sell the actor.

Or you will see buddy movies where there is no story just a lot of action by famous actors like John Malkovich and they make a bundle. I can see them in a hotel room working it out and laughing about it.

I want a good story like To Kill a Mockingbird, Last of the Mohicans, Shogun, or Dune, or Watership Down, or Lord of the Rings, Tai Pan, etc.

I want a good story, with good casting first and foremost, where the actors are just doing a good job telling the story e.g. Queens Gambit.

A lot of thought went into that movie.

South Korea produces those kinds of movies better than anyone, IMO.

I search the world for the unknown great directors and writers. They are popping up everywhere.

And I love the modern existential forays into the void-lol.

People at, last after millions of years of evolution, are now freeing themselves from primitive myths and mores and exploring the universe of facts and reason and ideas.
