What's the highest speed for GSM, today?

They originally touted ISDN which is 56/64 Kbps. They instead answer the demand which is POT. So the channel is sliced up to give more voice traffic and better capacity versus analog. You ain't going to send no ripping speeds over GSM, unless you are compressing, something the Evil Wintel detest.

If they had stayed with the original plan, GSM would have less capacity than analog, but you would have a helluva toll grade phone call to go along with that ripping speed of 64 Kbps data.

If you think that wirless is going to compete with fiber optics as far as the INternet is concern, then I got a formula to turn lead into gold. Shit, gold worthless these days. Well I happen to have another formula to convert water into gasoline...damn the price is falling at the pump.....let me work on these other pie in the sky dreams.

Wireline (fiber) for computer, wireless for voice and low speed data.
