Bingo - again! I couldn't agree with you more. I was one of those guy's back in 1976, and still have the Vector 1+ - S100 bus machine to remind myself of the some $700 (in 1976 $) that I spent on it. Heck, I still have my original Tandy Model I that over the years I spent $3500 on, and that was for 48K RAM and 3-720K floppies, and a printer! Pretty good, huh! Let see what I can get for <$1K now!

As for software, same here! I quit writing for others. They would see my software and for a while, I would do 'shareware', because of all of the 'hype' about people being honest and they 'will' register and send you $25 or whatever. That is so much 'bat guano'!

As for writing for myself - YA-BETCHA! And I write in a little known compiled basic call ZBasic distributed from 32 Bit Software. Their software allows me to do what I want, when I wand and where I want, without the declaration in 'globals' and 'locals' or 'loading-linking' libraries! Being an old computer type, I actually know and understand the complexities of the systems, not just 'macro-hacking' a 'shell' provided by another! Not that there aren't many talented programmers working in industry! Some of the stuff that is being produced is pretty innovative, but those people have to work for somebody to pay their 'bills' while they 'code'. BG does this, and if you stick with MSFT for a while, you WILL MAKE SOME SERIOUS DOLLARS!

Being retired now, along with you, I watch as the Windows generation try to get a grip!

Thoughts!
