Who will create the new IP and how will it be distributed? Today almost all
of the high-value IP (often referred to as Star-IP) has been created by the
major semiconductor companies. Such designs command high margins in a
system application because they add considerable value in the overall system
in which they are applied. An Intel Corp. or IBM Corp. microprocessor
core, DSP technology from Texas Instruments Inc. or Motorola Inc., and a
Sparc or MIPS core from LSI Logic Corp. are all examples of Star-IP.

LSI's new GSM chip about the price of a large pizza at $15:

Thus 1 million chips = 15 million; 5 million = 75 million; 10 million = 150 million; figure there must be a few 100 million of these types of chips produced each year. So a potential thin-crust-type-blockbuster for a few years?
