Fully agree and it is sad, the other majors are not running into EV products so as not to render their production lines of IC worthless.

Since 2016 I do know that GM, BMW are working on EV and batteries, and presented this fact at an international conference. IBM, Apple is doing same, but to me it seems that their rate of return in developing batteries is lower than other venues of new R&D they are pursuing.
