I think (not sure) zintevir will avoid entrance to the potential host cell, and avoid integration to the host DNA (second effect more important).

About any ability of the virus to change its behavior and reproduce in a different way, similar to an adenovirus? I do not know, but hopefully not (or this virus is really invincible). The Aronex side have a nice graphic about the process.

In the article above they even talk about resistant strains to Zintevir. I guess it will be at some point another drug for the different cocktails available to HIV patients.
