Re: Jaz2

I really don't know for sure. I recently came across a person who claimed he had beta tested the Jaz2, and said their were "significant" problems with it right now. I am assuming he was being truthful, and he did not go into specifics. If his input was correct, they still have a ways to go. It is my conjecture that the problem comes from the drive trying to read and write both the 1 gig and 2 gig formats. Iomega has admitted already, and a written article concerning yet another beta unit says that the Jaz2 drive performs 20%-30% more slowly than Jaz1 when using Jaz1 1 gig carts. This is unavoidable according to Iomega. Perhaps the slower performance is just one of many more problems.
