they do not know for sure why it seemed(s) to spread faster (makes folks sick more easily) .. so transmissibility came up front and centre.. but on further investigation it seems like a good theory that it is more efficient.. not conjecture. but yes the terms are confusing ... we tend to use words interchangeably but their precise definitions are not actually the same.. just look up infectious and it's easy to see that...

Let's face it we keep learning about this thing..

Nope.. Rose

Again there are TWO parts to that..

1) can it get to you more easily

2) it is more efficient once it gets in your body..

So far #2 has scientific backup.. #1 does not..

I keep looking for an a article with transmissibility/contagious etc that actually demonstrates a mechanism by which it can get to more people.. It is possible that the new variant lives on surfaces better .. that would seal the transmissibility deal for me... OR that it is longer lived without a host.. THAT also would the seal the deal for me... So far no evidence of same.. It could even be that it is more sanitizer resistant.. no one knows.. I am surprised that data on these aspects is not available.. considering the variant is now so widespread.

in ANY CASE.. the same protocols for now we are doing is what we need to do...

as an aside Quebec started curfew on Saturday.. 8PM to 5AM to mitigate the fact that folks in too large a part simply cannot be trusted to follow the rules.. which is sad.. Ontario releases new rules on Tuesday but it has already been leaked the Ontario has decided against a curfew.. so they can be the control group in the curfew experiment... I hope the curfew works for QC but the Cons are taking a huge gamble on that one.. if they are wrong well they deserve what they get...
