To my knowledge the voter ID issue came from the South when it was made virtually impossible for some segments of society to vote, and the games that were played were absolutely disgusting. Cant remember the show but if memory serves people had to go to the post office to register and one lady was asked questions to receive her voting card that nobody would know, but to her credit she did. That was the right move for that time no disagreement there. I find it hard to believe that now in this day and age people do not have any kind of ID at all? Make it easy but secure live, also the count should be by hand and supervised. I would think then nobody can argue and trust would return. Unfortunately you are correct that some never want to see this, if the majority gets on board with it they will have no choice.
