It looks as if CloudFlare is blocking access to their site...

Cloudflare is among other things a DDNS(Distributed Domain Name Service) org. Every networkable device is manufactured with what is called an ethernet address - also known as a hardware address. Each device is unique. There is only one ethernet address for a device - never to be changed. They can be spoofed but it's not easily done. In order to access that hardware device, the owner, company or whatever assigns an IP (internet protocol) address to the device by editing a file on the machine. Companies or owners of computers/phones are assigned ip addresses and they can change. You can re-assign ip address among your machines. If you replace one machine (it breaks) with another machine, you can simply assign the original ip address to the new machine. This is similar to longitude/latitude designations for a physical location as opposed to a street address as opposed to your reference to the location. For instance, there is a house currently located a latitutude 38 degrees/longitude 110 degrees. That house is located at 123 main street in albany, ny. Your friend Mike lives there. The long/lat designation of that house is the ethernet/hardware address, it never changes. The street address is and easy way for lots of people to find the house. It can also be referred to as 'Mike's house' by your because you're familiar with Mike.

This house is easy to find because the map where it is with respect to lat/long also shows the street address in a manner of speaking. Cloudflare is the company that provides the 'map' services. They maintain and distribute dns files to computing devices on a regular basis. DNS is Domain Name Service. It simply helps map the ip address (street address) to the hardware address (lat/long). If Cloudflare pulls your street address out of their DNS files, it's as if your computer(website) doesn't exist...

Cloudflare is not the ONLY DDNS org in the world/country. There are free services but Cloudflare can put a dent in access to Gab.
