I only moved from QC to Ontario as my the wife could not speak enough French.. I really never wanted to be there... What I have in a small town setting near ALL amenities including hospital except for ones I would only visit maybe twice yearly like the AGO or ROM in Toronto or Musee des Beaux Arts or Botannical Gardens in Montreal.. trips are fun .... would be close to 2 million for the land size I have. if I could find even a nice little house on that size lot.. The lot size matters to me as I am such an avid gardener.. I bought it for the cost of a good Toronto down payment.. Maybe not for everyone.. but I'm only focused on me now .. no wife and kids are adults.. :) I miss nothing really about the big city .. especially not the idea of having a big mortgage or alternatively being house rich and cash poor.. :)

I considered Nova Scotia actually .. Nice place out there and for what I care about nice value proposition but realistically I prefer to be a little closer to big things if I periodically need them.. just not that close... and I have no need to commute ..

Value is indeed relative..
