Hi GMW,
Your analysis might be right, but I'm not sure that's what was the intent of the way it's presented in the pages I use for reference. In BARRONS I don't believe they differentiate between the NYSE and the NASDAQ when they calculate their theoretical days to cover.

In any case, it's not an extreme short position. If one keeps track of the data in a consistant manner over time, some meaning will come from it whether NASDAQ does a different trade accounting or not.
