About the after hours trading that dropped the price by ~30%

Maybe it's already been discussed, but it's like national election night, where they defer comment on the winners or losers until after the polls close.
Maybe the earnings announcements should be released after the west coast markets close too. Trading 1million shares wouldn't affect the stock price as drastically as it did. "Pre-market open" earnings announcements probably have a downside too, but I can't help but think that if enough volume would have been available to the market, there would have been more of a limit to the slide.
