Wow! You guys are great. This ought to be written up in a business management study.

David's suggestion was posted at 11:38
Brad had made the improvement (and added one of his own -- thank you!) by 1:01

A total turnaround time of 1 hour 23 minutes.

Now, if you guys had sold out to Humongous Digital, I'll bet you would be spending the next four weeks in meetings to agonize over whether or not to change the product.

Great work, Brad. If you guys ever IPO, will you give SI members an inside track at the issue price?

BTW, Jill promsied me a T-shirt a while back which didn't make it. I'd be happy to do some free advertising for you as a charter member.

Keep it up.

Brad, here's a minor suggestion, but one that might be a big timesaver...

Some of us have taken to putting an "(end)", "(eom)", "<e>" etc. tag at the end of one line responses to signify that there is no need to click on the post to read more stuff. Conversely, I avoid opening lines that might be confused for one-line responses for fear people might skip over the rest of what I have to say.

Any ideas?

- Jeff

Brad,

I like SI a lot. Please keep up the good work. I really like the recent addition of private message facility.

One suggestion/request :

To get info on a new company in SI, often I click on Quote link at the top of the page. I use Yahoo quotes. I appreciate if the link takes me to "Detailed quote" option on Yahoo, rather than "Basic quote" option on Yahoo. This will save an additional click...

I do not find 'Quote' option for all the stocks. Any ideas?

Just for the sake of it - How about a spell checker?

Thanks,
DB

Just discovered a lil bummer of a glitch in the private message response area.

I wrote a LONG message, and before clicking send, clicked the back button, to reread the original message, then clicked forward button to finish my message.

awwww, my message was gone boo hoo hoo

I know, I should have clicked the person original note post number.

RE: Suggestion for Private Message.

Brad,

When we reply to a private message, would it be possible to show the message that we are replying to (similar to what happens with public messages)? It's usually not necessary, but on a longer message I find that I need to open the reply in a new window so that I can flip back and forth.

Things are looking great! Keep up the good work!

P.S. Ditto on a spell checker. I'd love to see one!

I would LOVE to see a Spell checker. What about the ability to paste a picture in a post?

I hope all these changes don't make fees go up. I know we are starting to ask allot from you guys.

Brad, There's a cool feature on the Franklin Telecom thread that I have not seen elsewhere -- namely the "Franklin Clubhouse" place where off topic notes can be posted. I especially like how the notes within the Clubhouse show the first five or six lines as I scroll through there. Then, if there are more words left to read a blue "more" is shown that I can click on to finish reading. Any chance that the main threads could be set up that way?

Thanks
Sue

Brad, while we're on the subject of the messaging system, how about this:

When entering a message, have three buttons: SUBMIT, REVIEW, CANCEL on
the bottom instead of only SUBMIT.

REVIEW would display the entered message on the bottom (or top to
appear differently) already formatted for presentation. If it is not
correct, the raw text is still showing on top and can be adjusted.
Hit REVIEW one more time. If OK, hit SUBMIT. If we change our mind,
hit CANCEL and return to the original post we chose to respond to.

(Deleted the TABS request: we don't need it with Fixed Font! DUH!)

Well done, Brad. I particularly like the improvement of placing the cursor in the respond area!

The new features are awesome!

Brad - You constantly amaze. The preview feature is great for checking the appearance of pastes before posting.

While you're in such a programming frenzy <gg>, is it possible to tweak the "search" feature to allow searches within a particular thread?

Is this doable? Worthwhile?? Am I getting greedy?

Brad,

Could you get me the daily average hits that the 'Any info about Iomega (IOM)?' thread gets. Is there a way to determine the number of 'full' SI members hitting and 'lurker/non-paying' viewers hitting this thread per day?

Thanks,

Ben A.
