I up my practise before going hunting so I can shoot with confidence up to 600 yds, provided I have a steady position. I have read stories about some hunters tipping over elk at up to 1100 yards distance with my gear, but that is way beyond my capability.

For the Tikka 270 I have on order, I have a Chinese version of of a VX-3i 4.5-14x40mm with a Leupold style duplex reticle. Believe it or not, it is a solid, simple scope for 200-500 yards, at a fraction of the price of a Leupold, which by the way are made in China, but reportedly assembled in the USA.

Buris are also Chinese made scopes.

Nowadays, scope lens are made from blanks fed into CNC like grinding and polishing machines, so glass in these scopes is on par with good European scope lenses.

I passed on your comments to my friend, so thanks again for your comments.
