In my world money is a medium of exchange for one person work. Instead of paying with a leg of chicken or a leg of sheep he can sustain itself a worker is paid with paper money with which he can by few legs of chicken or sheep or whatever to eat that is the basics of the relative value of paper money recognized worldwide.

500 years from now may be there will be no need for money as all will be for free and people will be civilized enough not to hoard but take how much they actually need, and work as needed.
