In an Andrew Bary article, Barrons Online has a chart from Biryini showing how the Asian problem is all relative...in terms of their market value versus some of the big caps. "To Biryini, the table shows that Asia is just not that important in the world of stocks."

for instance GE's market value is nearly as large as Taiwan.

hong kong is 357 b and GE is 250 b.

btw, Japan is not shown....hmmmm.....last time I heard it was part of Asia....

Of course it doesnt address how each of our individual stocks could be effected by the consumer in Asia..not to mention the banking problems........or the snowball effect that can be created....

but hey..I am not the Great Biryini...so what do I know..
