This dog of a company could end up in the teens, should the street not like its merger plan.

Myopic, meaning near-sighted. You bought Compaq because you worked there. You got lucky, just admit it. Your the type of person who would have put there life savings into Commodore computers if you worked there. Congratulations on your wealth, but no thanks to your analytical skills.
