It is not an easy question, and there is no precedent of a President being convicted at all, let alone after he left office. There were some federal judges who were convicted after they resigned, apparently. I think we should get an answer soon enough, as senate must decide whether to hold a trial. I do not think Trump will be convicted even if there is a trial, even if he does not show up for the trial. But senate holding a trial will give us the answer.
