Jacob, here are my carefully considered estimates...

1. low for the rest of 1998 27
2. high for the rest of 1998 45
3. at end of 1998 42
4. at end of 1999 65

GM
Is there a price for the winner?

Jacob,

>Re:

What are your best guesses for AMAT's price:
1. low for the rest of 1998 $27
2. high for the rest of 1998 $43 (fiscal ending Oct 98)
3. at end of 1998 $34
4. at end of 1999 Range $38-$74 for the year.

I feel that you are correct, there are lots of unknowns/uncertainties
due to foreign market/business conditions that could detrimentally
impact the semi industry which could drag AMAT with it.

Jacob,
I'm glad someone thought about this, I'm in:

1. 1998 low = 26
2. 1998 hi = 54
3. 1998 end = 48
4. 1999 end = 86

SF

PS: Of course we're talking Fiscal, not Calendar YE..right?

Jacob,

Re: the polling of the thread on AMATs price:
1. low for the rest of 1998
2. high for the rest of 1998
3. at end of 1998
4. at end of 1999

My guesses, in order, are: 20, 38, 38, 62.

regards,
Teri

Answer to your poll:

1. We've already seen pretty close to the 1998 low--about 26-27. (AMAT will weather the current CC and stay within the trading range).

2. AMAT can get pretty close to its 52 week highs again--$54--as another case of euphoria sets in.

3. Long term trend, eg, end of 1998, would suggest about $40 as reasonable.

4. During 1999 may hit new highs, eg above $55, but will maintain long term trend of +20% growth annually, suggesting year end below $60. I say $55.

I guess I'll cast my votes as well:

1. low for the rest of 1998 30
2. high for the rest of 1998 65
3. at end of 1998 60
4. at end of 1999 90

BTW, these guesses are based on calendar, not fiscal year.

2. High for rest of 1998: 50
3. At end of 1998: 45
4: At end of 1999: 50

Hope I'm low on all of 'em!

Thx,

John Dodson
