It sounds like you are not overly impressed with the stories. I can see a level of formulaic pattern in Gunsmoke, but I have no trouble following the stories as I do in more recent productions. In Gunsmoke, I can start in the middle and understand the story, but not so with modern drama. My wife and I both love to watch Gunsmoke. She likes the Hallmark channels, but they drive me up a wall. I think they should get new writers because the plots and characters seem to crop up the same in almost every episode. Girl loves boy, another boy comes along and she doesn't know what to do. Then it's all resolved. Somebody wins, somebody loses. Why not have some stories about senior romances? Are we that boring?
