Turkish pro-government daily Yeni Safak earlier this month claimed that Biden was brought to office by a “Jewish-controlled media organization and powerful Jewish lobbies,” pedalling [sic] a widely held belief in ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) circles that Washington is controlled by Jewish capital. Such views are also held by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has gone on record to accuse the 2013 Gezi Park protesters of being provocateurs for the “interest rate lobby,” a network of Jewish financiers.
