I think Larry King screwed things up. He was on CNN and the ratings companies didn't separate his show from news shows so CNN got higher ratings from one entertainment show (that's my take). Fox news knows entertainment gets higher ratings so their evening shows are 100% entertainment.

Think of the changes to the airwaves after the benign War of the Worlds caused a fraction of the panic. If you turn on the "news" and there is some talking head saying "Pack your bags and leave town because there is an invasion coming." are they not responsible for those who die or are killed when people act on this knowingly false information? I'd say, "Yes they are." I'm going to retire this year - maybe they will need some jurors who nearly never watch these people talk. Just play to the jury night after night the lies and fake "experts" and let's see where people come down on this. The judges instructions will be clear. Did they act with wanton disregard for the truth?
