You got mad at me for continually pointing out Gov. Newsom's dinner at French Laundry, but it's a major symbol of why our state has failed. I have a different take on this. Instead of forcing everyone indoors the government should have kept outdoor dining and encouraged socially distanced outdoor activities. This would include the French Laundry as well as Sam Liccardo's family Thanksgiving gathering. Instead people met indoors and the lockdown actually drove the spread. There is also a cultural aspect to this as the majority of infections are in the Mexican communities. My wife was half Mexican so I know how they like to gather and party... At least in most of CA we have weather that would allow outdoor dining/activities year round.
