Original intent is bullshit

Simple and well said.

Original intent intellectually vacuous. Fundamentalisms and dogma.

Like using seventeenth century building materials and codes to construct a modern skyscraper.

Bad things come from bad assumptions, and become subsequently amplified.

Bad assumptions led to Vietnam and Iraq wars too.

Politicians and lawyers build a false narrative, and argue. It takes a great and open mind to identify faulty assumptions and adapt thinking.

I agree epicure, and that was my point.

It doesn't matter what skills a judge has if they are a sociopath with a barbaric right wing philosophy.

They have no business being a judge, and while the Democrats avoid those types of people, the Republicans embrace them.

And that is how I read Scalia, a right wing sociopath.

And we just saw the opening salvo in Texas where a Trump appointed judge blocked Biden's effort to suspend deportations. Which was a typical right wing cruel decision.

And Trump and Mcconnell were able to appoint 30% of the life time judges sitting today, and they will impede the evolution of civilized law and the Democrats agenda every step of the way for decades.

Which as you know, was the Republicans game plan in packing the courts.
