One of the things I am most happy about with Biden is his determination to get rid of private prisons which are just another abomination of the Republican ideology. I have been posting for years that there should be no private prisons. When a society decides to imprison people it also needs to take responsibility for their health and welfare. Private prisons have no motivation to do any of that and in fact quite the opposite. And many if not most are hell holes. And it is important to see this as just one more program, of the Republicans working to replace the public sector with the private sector, which is nuts, but part of their long running ideology. And part of their thinking, that an MBA and business leaders, is better than people educated with an MPA for running our government, which is nuts! IMO
