Jamie- our SC is as likely to make up law as it is to undo it. That's what you were arguing about with the right to privacy. It doesn't exist. I'm glad the court "found" it- but it clearly was found where it wasn't (and thank goodness they "found" it). The travel cases, which allowed black folks to travel, were another example of wildly stretching the law- interstate commerce law. I'm really glad those cases were decided the way they were, but would our founders, some of whom owned slaves, have given a fuck about traveling black folks? I think not. Also, the reasoning about commerce didn't work for me- but I am still very glad the courts did what they could to remedy the rampant racism in our shithole country. Courts do weird shit all the time- sometimes it gets corrected on appeal, sometimes it doesn't, and when the Supreme Court does stuff it's hard to overrule it- the process is arduous for congress, which, as we know, is a complete shitshow a lot of the time. Bush vs Gore? What a horrible decision. Not just because I didn't like it, and because it clearly fucked the past up, but because it was just poorly reasoned: swarthmore.edu I like this summation. Of course the conservatives think Roe v Wade is super fucked up- because they don't like it. Think of the little babies, they'll tell you (the ones they'd like to starve, or imprison, once they're older- or, if they're black, maybe they can be shot while NOT carrying weapons.) Anyway, both sides are fucked in America and America is fucked up and I'm not sure this shattered shithole ever gets put back together. It amazes me how far down the shitter sHitler took this country- and yet gaggles of Trump humpers still hump that leg. I'm glad the vote wasn't close. I'm glad sHitler lost his second go 'round- but there should have been no doubt about it. He should have been excoriated for the damage he did- not had his ass licked by vile little toadies like Lindsey. And yet here we are.
