MMG has a thread, but not a profile. They own FM radio stations, so they don't qualify as a tech company. Besides, it's difficult to respect anyone who would sell the Landmark Theaters. The best films in the world are shown there and Landmark 6 at the Opera Plaza on Van Ness is the greatest complex. All 6 theaters have 30-55 seats and seeing a movie there on a weeknight with 10 strangers is like stumbling into the intimate living room party of a rich man. You can't help wondering if the guy next to you is Gordon Getty or someone else in the neighborhood who's face you don't recognize. If you're lucky, you'll exit and City Hall will be shrouded in fog in the scene the tourist postcards can't match. I seduced my wife there! What were they thinking when they sold it? They should've just ditched the Coke and popcorn and replaced them with wine and cheese.
