HF investors and managers are getting ready to suffer the mother of all clawbacks!

Yes, as HB said this may wind up affecting the whole investment universe.

This could become a blackhole for the whole market.

This is exactly the LTCM scenario from 1998 that preceded the Internet bubble meltdown.

Again, the Blackhole analogy is appropriate here.

LTCM became a blackhole because everybody thought that risk was being spread in the market but it was in reality being concentrated.

Investors beware what you think is a fire burning in the next state, may very well burn your house down!
