I am not sure how to pen this as we have a basic disagreement to begin with.

First, education is needed by everyone, each according their capability which is much much higher for the normal person than people think..

But the more one studies, the smarter they get. Everyone.

And if one can get through high school, they can get through college and that is probably about 90% of the population.

And maybe the primary reason for free college, is not for the individual, as important as that is, but for the health of society.

Society and indeed democracy do much better the more educated the people are.

So free means no cost to the individual, as society deems it in its best interest to pay for it.

It would be no different than present K through 12. Imagine how backward we would be without that!!

Well, now imagine how much more powerful we would be with twice that. Everyone can learn and learn a lot more than they think!

The more educated a society is, the more successful it will be, by and large. And there are a zillion examples e.g Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Israel, and the Nordic countries, Iceland, are all prime examples of healthy and wealthy societies based on the power of their education.

And the stars like Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Israel are education zealots.

Just ask their kids how much pressure is put on them, but then they use that knowledge going forward.

However I am not a fan of Tiger moms-lol, I say moderate and steady, for a life time, is the way to go.
