You are right I am a Canadian and quoted Armstrong . I too believe that this country is far too socialistic . Why is it that the most capitalistic province , Alberta, is the most prosperous with the least unemployment. Don't tell me it is just oil. They have had cut backs and privatized inspite of the screaming of unions and the do gooders. Nobody is screaming unemplyment there. You must have liked Trudeau !! The government is already talking about spending the surplus. We have a MUCH larger per capita debt than the U.S.. I'm also not sure that the Cdn. surplus is exclusive of debt interest charges. Previously the gov't reported the deficit/surplus exclusive of debt servicing costs. Yes, if I were younger I would leave Canada, no question. Your suggestion that our affairs are coming into such good order serems to be inconsistant with the rapidly dropping value of our dollar. I don't want to take up gold discussions with this contraversy so if you which to continue it please get my e mail and do it privately.
