There was another part of that little plywood story
that did not seem to be based in reality.

At any lumber retailer, they usually cut plywood on a panel saw, where they lay the sheet up vertical,
on edge, and just use the ledger affixed to the panel rack to measure, there is no need for a tape.

Even at a smaller operation, if they are cutting for clients, they will have a commercial table saw,
and the measuring is done between the edge of the rip fence to the inside edge of the blade.

I think he was just makin' shit up.
