the advance/decline rating and rel strength are quite useful, especially in shorting. i won't go into details and have been paper trading my system for 14 weeks now and have done well. i will give a few examples.... i shorted clst at 29 3/8, pten at 42, ames at 17, nss at 18, imnx at 62.
if you use it to establish a trend and act on it when the trend starts (long or short) and know when to admit you are wrong, the potential is very good.
there is more info in the pitbull system which is where i learned what i know, but, i have adapted the system to fit with my taste since i like to look at both fundamentals and ta. i won't short a stock that is too far undervalued or go long when it is too extended. i will also cover if the valuation starts to look attractive from a mathematical standpoint.
it helps that i have a bs in mathematics and passed an actuarial exam 10 years ago.
good luck all and unfortunately i will not be able to answer many questions as i am in the navy on a missile submarine and will be going on patrol soon.
ps. i love the thread and of course have it bookmarked since i use it to check my own list of possible short or long candidates.
