This seems to work pretty well if you don't have any spare M.2 slots. Supposedly reads up to 3GB/sec. I am getting 1.1GB/sec on an old Intel NVME, and you can boot from it without issue too.

Benchmarks they are awesome, but in real life computing you will not know the difference.
